PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION PROGRAMS

Educators are often the first professionals who see the effects of a separation or divorce on children. Alpha Center has developed a continuing education workshop to aid administrators, teachers and school counselors in recognizing the stress signs in children whose parents are separated or divorcing and how they can help.

SPRING 2008 PROGRAMS

Helping Students Deal With Divorce ACT 48

This workshop provides practical information to help administrators, teachers, guidance counselors and social workers understand the impact of divorce on their students. Topics of discussion will include identifying specific emotional and behavioral changes in students who are struggling with their parents divorce. Learn strategies to lend support to students faced with the many changes that result from divorce. Understanding students and parents heightened sensitivity surrounding school and the two household issues. Acquire the knowledge and resources to share with parents in helping their families adjust to their new circumstances.
