Alpha Resource Center is committed to providing practical and accessible education to mental health professionals that is relevant to their daily work with clients experiencing relationship issues. ARC's courses are low-cost, high-value opportunities to sharpen your clinical skills, as well as to satisfy continuing education needs for psychologists, social workers, and counselors. Additionally, clinicians who complete all three online courses are listed as ARC-certified Marriage Specialists.

Each course includes a two- hour aduio lecture with PowerPoint's, downloadable materials to reduce the need for note-taking, and a quiz to assess the transfer of learning objectives.

Marriage Success

This two-hour course is intended for mental health professionals who work with married couples who are looking to strengthen their marital relationship. This presentation will review the characteristics of healthy and unhealthy marriages, as well as the impact of family origin on the marriage relationship. Participants will learn how to help their clients to:

*Set Life Goals that Fulfill the Relationship

Surviving Divorce

This two-hour course is team taught by an attorney and a therapist. It is intended for mental health professionals who work with individuals and families who are currently moving through the divorce process. The presentation will review important legal issues such as types of custody and informed consent to treatment in situations where the parents are separated. The presentation also reviews a child's emotional reaction to divorce and a child's emotional needs during the divorce process.

New Beginnings

This two-hour course is intended for mental health professionals who help guide their clients through the many family and personal transitions that occur after the divorce is finalized. The presentation will address the challenges divorced people face related to single parenting, co-parenting with their ex-spouse, building new relationships, establishing a sense of identity outside of the marriage, and charting new life goals.
